BMW Group Canada

BMW Group Canada sought to develop a new LEED accredited corporate headquarters that would ensure their staff and customers had a “360 degree” experience that reflected their brand and values – state of the art technology and innovation, quality and joy.

The building is sited with its main façade addressing the 404, a major highway. The high-performance glazing, which we call the “windscreen”, slips past the main body of the building on all four sides. The strong horizontal lines and sliding, alternating spandrel colours evoke an image of movement and speed – like the streaking headlights on motorways at night.

The calmer west façade faces the ravine with its expansive, bucolic views. The main entrance, exterior patio and other amenity spaces share this aspect. The landscape design marries the building and the ravine setting by carrying the structural grid into the surrounding with paved and planted areas.
In line with the client’s brand, our passion for sustainability, innovative technologies brought harmony and value to this building that has become an emblem on par with their brand.
